Education Is Power continues to put a strong emphasis on its online interactive cultural exchanges between North American and Kenyan youth

We believe such initiatives uphold EIP’s values to promote peace and intercultural understanding, while offering many other benefits for kids and youth on either side of the exchange. Not to mention it is just plain fun to have a chat with someone on the other side of the world!

In Kenya, many high school students are not very familiar with computers let alone Skype video chats. Furthermore, Kenyan teachers whom we work with have remarked how the Skype exchanges are a major confidence builder for the kids involved, and that it is altogether an enlightening experience for them to exchange with people from such a different country. In Canada, young students and their teachers have been happy to build personal connections with Kenyan youth. Additionally, Canadian students involved in fundraising felt that the experience made it much more meaningful to truly understand the impacts of their efforts. We are seeking interested people to get involved in a new campaign in September 2017 to expand our Skype to Africa Initiative.
